☯ The Zen of the Bookmarks Bar

Filed under: Creative, Mac, Web — Joey @ 11:36 pm

I relabeled all of the bookmarks in my bookmarks bar today:

Bookmarks Bar

I know the usage of the symbols is non-standard, but I love looking at the beautiful text ornaments and the space efficiency. I know I’ve seen this concept somewhere else, but I just can’t remember where.

Mouse over so you may see to which link each symbol correlates.

Update:
Looks like it comes from Merlin Mann circa 2004.

  2. I make all my bookmarks (and bookmark folders, of which I have two) exactly two letters. I know what they all mean now, and it’s a brilliant way to save space. IK, GT, MU, EG, WT, and GM (a folder) are but a few: IKEA, Google Translate, MacUpdate, Engrish.com, Wiktionary, and games.
