Lately, I've heard a lot about hashbang URLs. A bunch of people, including my roommate, wrote about it, but frankly I remain unimpressed. The juxtaposition of the octothorpe and exclamation mark is clearly a poorly considered hack. This arbitrary selection of characters not only breaks fundamental linking on the web, but worse, it's inelegant.
Today I'm announcing a revolutionary new URL scheme that replaces this ugly mashup with a pure and simple character, the interrobang. Excited Yet‽
I look forward to a better future of pithy, excited, unsure URLs!
